Inaugurated in 1987, the Museum of Romantic Life is located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris in the district called “The New Athens”. This museum was installed in the old residence filled with a romantic charm, of the painter of Dutch origin Ary Scheffer. The Jacquemart André Museum
Edouard André was born in 1833 and became the heir to two of the largest fortunes in Europe. In 1872, he met Nelie Jacquemart, a young artist responsible for carrying out his portrait. 1881 was the year of their union. From then on, they traveled a lot to enlarge the collection of works of art. A part was resold and the vast majority is now exhibited in the Jacquemart André museum.
